Well as you can see, we've been "fiddling" again  

Below is a summary re what has occurred to the Forum -

1.  Social Activities - we have moved some of these posts to the Local Groups area, and also created a General information/other locations board under Local Groups.  By doing this, we have been able to delete the Social Activities board, as it was kind of superfluous when we have the Local Groups area.

2.  Mission Debriefing category has been renamed The Hub.

3.  The Hub has been renamed Rhys' Rec Room.

4.  Torchwood Chat board has been moved to the NEW Hub area.

5.  New board entitled Torchwood Stars in the NEW Hub area - please note, at this stage do NOT use that area until advised further.  We are going to be moving a lot of posts into this new board from other areas.  Once we have done that, you will be free to use the new Stars board.


In a few months time, we will try to finalise our Forum review/reshuffle.

Our main intent is to do something with Whoniverse (it won't be staying permanently in the Rec Room area), but of course it takes time to sort through all your posts and work out what can stay/go etc.

We will also most likely be condensing the Children of Earth area, when we work through the Whoniverse area.

So still some things coming up yet so stay tuned.

Also we are still working on getting some more interviews uploaded before I go away OS in late October, and then we will look at a change of format re the interview process in the new year, involving you members a lot more.

FYI, I have recently met with our Gwen Cooper, to discuss Forum upgrades/maintenance etc.

Unfortunately at this time, we don't think it is advisable to put through some of the latter updates to the YaBB board.

We suspect if we do (and these updates/upgrades are quite manually intensive), that it may 'do' something to the Forum, and we don't want any corruptions occurring, or the chance of losing information.

We feel if any change was to occur, we would have to switch the Forum over to a phpbb type board.

Now this kind of 'scares the pants' off us, as we suspect without the right knowledge, we would have to start the forum from scratch.

So, if any members out there know of someone who is a guru with YaBB and phpbb boards, who may be able to advise and help us further, please let us know.  Obviously this will have to be done out of a 'love for Torchwood' as we can't afford to pay someone for this type of service.

That said, if no-one comes forward for this type of thing, the forum will remain in its current format (unless Ruthy wins lotto, then she may consider shouting you all a new forum, LOL).

We'll see what eventuates.

Whilst we find a few glitches here and there, overall the forum performs quite nicely for our current needs.

Please note, in your membership set up, you should all be set to the black skin not the default skin (the blue one) - you may find that the blue skin is much more problematic, and the black skin is the one that seems to work best.

Hi everyone,

As you can see, we've changed the banner/header of the Forum and the Main webpage.

I've used a smaller banner version for the Main webpage, as I think it looks a bit better with the smaller version - if I use the larger Forum version, Kai and Eve sort of hang over to the right a bit, and I'm not sure if that looks ok or not.

So I hope everyone likes what they see thus far.

We can change back to the old header, if no-one is fussed on this version.

We just wanted to incorporate some familiar faces on the home pages.

I realise our logo now looks smaller, but I think overall the sizing looks ok.

Any comments at all???

Just let us know anyway.
