Hey everyone,

Just a bit of general info to remind everyone of all things Torchwood, that is happening over the next week.

Firstly, we are up to our last night of the radio plays on BBC Radio4, which you can listen to via the internet – tonight’s radio play will be aired at 11.15pm AEST.

Secondly, Children of Earth is starting in the UK on Monday night 6 July…..and as some of you are already aware, UKTV in Australia will air the 5 eps over consecutive nights, starting at 8.30pm on Tuesday 7 July.  This is fantastic for Australians, compared to the US who will not be airing the season until later in the month.  Good job UKTV!

Thirdly, we have a very comprehensive Children of Earth section on the Torchwood Australia Forum – Noo, who is one of our Sub Admins, has put a lot of time and effort into that section, and it is a fantastic source for “all things CoE”, so come on over and check it out  http://torchwoodaustralia.com/forum/YaBB.pl?catselect=season3

We seem to be getting a lot of new members wanting to come on board due to CoE coming up, but I have also noticed we have some new Torchwood converts since ABC2 started airing season one – that is just fabulous for the Fandom.

I would like to add here, that we have declared July as Children of Earth Month on our Forum, so come on over and join in the fun.

Just a few things to mention to bring you “up to speed”.

Firstly, the rumours that are going around about Children of Earth UK airing date, seem to indicate that it may occur week commencing 15th June – nothing confirmed at this stage though…..UKTV in Australia will be airing the 5 episodes I believe the same day or thereabouts as per the UK airing dates.  Please keep an eye on the forum for more details as they come to hand.  There will be announcements made over there regarding when COE will air etc.

Secondly, we welcome Noo as our newest Sub Admin on the Forum – fabulous to have you join the moderating team Noo.

Thirdly, our 2nd Anniversary is fast approaching.  Please stay up to date with news of that weekend on the forum.  Lots of activities/comps/prizes are planned.  The relevant weekend is 20th/21st June 2009.

And lastly, EvilRuthy is off for her big trip with Cally73 to the UK on 12th May; I will be away until 15th June, and will be online occasionally whilst I’m away, probably once a week.  The Forum moderation will be capably looked after by Clarrisani and Noo; please contact them if you need assistance with anything during my absence.  The website itself won’t be updated during my absence.

More than a wee bit excited right now – this looks SO awesome!

Ok, it isn’t great news……..

According to some of the upcoming tv guides, it looks like Torchwood’s airing time on the 1st Sept has been pushed back until 11.35pm.

Now I’m not going to keep updating this information piece-meal, as it may keep changing (????).

So, I do promise that if the 11.35pm timeslot changes or the date changes, there will be a post here at least 24 hours before it happens.

Let’s just hope it isn’t a repeat of our Season 1 scheduling woes.

If you want to be heard about your thoughts on the matter, I suggest you go across to the Ten forums and make your feelings known.  The more people who do it, the more likely TEN are going to take some notice.

I think we should all just take a deep breath, and hope for the best that Ten see some sense re the TW timeslots.

Yes the big announcement has been made by TEN.

Season Two of Torchwood commences on TEN HD on Monday 1st Sept at 10.30pm, with ep 1 “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang”.

As we are all aware, not everyone in Australia has access to HD unfortunately.  So it is just as well that the Season Two dvd release (region 4) is due out in early October.

As you can see below, we have previously posted our episode blurbs, and rating links, due to the season already having been aired in the UK.  So if you haven’t viewed Season Two before, once viewed, you can go across to the forum and rate the episode, and post your comments about the ep.

Anyways, good news on the Torchwood front and YAY for TEN.

Oh and btw, Torchwood Season 3 (which unfortunately is only going to be the 5 eps we’ve all heard about) is being filmed from today.  So lots of excitement over in Wales at present (wish I was there).

The much anticipated season 2 of Torchwood begins tonight on tellies all over the UK on BBC Two! At the same time, TV Week confirms Network Ten has the rights to airing season 2 in Oz.

Russell T Davies has confirmed Martha’s presence in the second season of Torchwood in the latest issue of the Doctor Who magazine. Martha Jones’ creator, tells the magazine his plans for the character: “You have to protect the fact that she’s still a Doctor Who character. For example, there is no sex or swearing with her in Torchwood, cos there will be some kids watching. It’s fine for Gwen to be doing it, or for Owen to be doing it, it’s very rare for Tosh to be doing it… but literally we sit there with a script taking swearwords out of Martha’s lines sometimes. Exactly the same with Captain Jack – he never sewars in Torchwood.”

It looks like Channel 10 has picked up a winner of an international program. Once the domain of Channel 7, home to Desperate Housewives and Lost, Ten debuted its new British sci-fi series Torchwood to a winning audience on Monday night. The show won its timeslot against Seven’s hyped Brothers & Sisters and a repeat of CSI on Channel 9 with one million viewers.
